The #RedSox today placed RHP Justin Slaten on the 15-Day Injured List (retroactive to April 5) with a right oblique strain. To fill his spot, Boston recalled LHP Tyler Samaniego from Triple-A Worcester. Samaniego will wear number 78.
Tyler Samaniego has made 4 appearances this spring (5.2 IP) and all of them have been scoreless. He’s only given up 1 hit and it was against Puerto Rico.
Ended up going 2 full innings against the Yankees this afternoon. Recorded 4 Ks and didn’t give up a walk. 3 Whiffs.
Tyler Samaniego finishes his first outing of the spring by striking out Martin Maldonado looking.
Gave up a leadoff single to Christian Vazquez and worked around a couple of walks. Topped out at 95.7. Good to see him healthy after dealing with a back issue earlier in camp.
Happy to do what we can to bring some smiles to the faces of hospitalized children!
Big thank you to @JaredBoxProject; @brad_queso, Tyler Samaniego and Matt Eckelman; and most of all, thanks to the fans, without whom this wouldn't be possible!
We can add @JayBilas to the small group of people that have actually come out with a rational, educated response on this matter. Unfortunately those have been very few and far between.
