Limitation is the lifeblood of art. When it comes from your own heart and hand, limited and influenced by one's own circumstance, that's when greatness happens.

and yet kane parsons didn't use the "new tools", he learnt filmmaking and VFX from scratch and succeeded anyway. Where are these gatekeepers? Not a single soul is stopping you from learning how to do what he does.

Kane Parsons’ comments about AI feel a little too clean to me.

He told The Australian that if he could snap his fingers and make generative AI disappear forever, he probably would.

Fair enough.

He does not have to like AI. He does not have to use it.

But this is also the guy who came up through BACKROOMS, creepypasta, Blender, YouTube, VFX, and the weirdest corners of the internet.

That path exists because new tools let people bypass the old gatekeepers.

So hearing him talk about AI like it is purely harmful feels weird.

Not wrong.

Just convenient.

It sounds like the safest possible answer once you are inside the A24 system.

The better conversation is not “AI bad.”

It is whether artists can use new tools without letting those tools replace the work.

BACKROOMS exists because Kane Parsons found a way around the system.

I just hope he does not start defending the walls now that he is inside them.
