On 18 March, this year, we interacted with the University of Pretoria (UP).

We thanked the VC for making submissions to the EFF Student Debt Bill, and asked about the rationale behind withholding certificates of graduates 🎓

Today, we wake up to the news that UP has launched a R 50 Million Campaign to clear debt and release withheld certificates.

Although, the number is relatively low, this is a good initiative which will become a pressure point for our struggle against Student Debt.

We will win! We have to, for the future of this country.

When SARB said Mr Ramaphosa didn’t need to declare foreign currency because the “transaction was not perfected” it was clearly bending the rules to protect the President.

When the Public Protector cleared Mr Ramaphosa, it was evident He was being protected.

When Parliament voted against adopting a report penned by former judges that found there is a case to answer, the ANC abused its majority to shield Mr Ramaphosa from being held accountable.

When all institutions fail in their Constitutional obligations, the Constitutional Court must restore order. It must remedy failures of all institutions by advancing the ideals of the Constitution, in this case, the duty of Parliament to scrutinise and oversee the Executive, which Parliament failed to do so.

BREAKING NEWS | A multi-million rand Nigerian cellphone phishing syndicate - operating out of a well-known Durban beachfront hotel - has been cracked by KZN police teams.

Three men from that country have just been arrested, along with two local women.

Members of SAPS KZN Crime Intelligence dealing with commercial, financial and cybercrimes, SAPS KZN Commercial Crime Investigations, Durban Central SAPS and Durban Metro Police Tactical Support Unit worked closely to trace the suspects.

The alleged scammers were operating out of three hotel rooms, booked in the first week of April.

A number of cellphones and laptops - used in the commission of the crimes - have been seized.

The five suspects will be charged with fraud, theft and the contravention of the Cybercrimes Act.

They are expected in court next week.

It’s unclear exactly when the ANC ditched corruption.
