5 changes are made to the team that lost to Golden Arrows over the weekend:

Goalkeeping: Brandon Petersen keeps his place and, as captain of the club, this is an opportunity to bounce back from his previous performance, where a goalkeeping error prevented him from keeping a clean sheet. He had a good season last year, so character and personality will be important. Beeza needs to command his area, provide confidence to the defence and show the composure expected from the captain.

Defence: Solomons replaces Monyane at RB, adding speed to the defensive line, but he will need to improve his final ball while remaining disciplined defensively. Kwinika and Miguel continue at CB and must definitely improve their ability to play through pressure, particularly their forward passing and ball circulation from the back. Frosler was one of the better players over the weekend and will be expected to build on that, especially in the first phase of possession, more influence is needed, while improving his decision-making and delivery in the final third. Overall, the defence must be more secure while also helping the team build attacks better.

Midfield: Mthethwa comes into the midfield as the anchor, while Baartman moves into the 10 role from LW, with both changes offering Chiefs an opportunity for greater stability at the back and an improved goal return with Baartman as the 10/SS. With Maboe completing the midfield trio, they must protect the defence, give us better structure, and cut out passing lanes.
In possession, they need to work collectively to control the tempo through better ball circulation, we are better when we play with intensity, but it needs to be controlled, we need better positioning, timing and decision-making, while providing the link between defence and attack. Frosler may also need to invert at times to support Maboe during build-up, particularly given the limited trust in Ox in that phase.

These are areas we need to be intentional about if they are to dominate the match and provide better support to both defence and attack. Do not ignore trying to control the midfield. 

Attack: Velebayi returns after missing the opening 2 official matches, while Phili makes his first start after debuting from the bench last week. Alongside Baartman in the 10 role, they give Chiefs considerable pace, creativity and 1v1 threat across the final third. Ighodaro, as the target man, brings strength, hold-up play, combination ability and aerial presence. He can miss big chances at times, but with a consistent supply, he has the quality to convert. With creativity coming from Baartman, Velebayi and Phili, the expectation is simple: finish the chances, not only for Ighodaro, but everyone.

The bench gives us options to change the dynamics of the game when required, with Flavio Da Silva and Pule Mmodi returning to the squad, and Moloisane and Nkgwesa still waiting for their debuts. The expectations are high after the negative MTN8 result. As much as there were positive areas to build on, Chiefs cannot afford to pick and choose which fixtures deserve maximum intensity. Every match must be approached like a cup final. Play to win. The supporters have shown up to back the team, and now the players need to keep that energy going with a strong display of football. Every player has an opportunity to make his mark and strengthen his claim for a place in the team.

More than R1 million in drugs have been seized by police in Phoenix this afternoon.

One person - a 39-year-old man - was arrested at the Rinkford Road property.

The operation was conducted by the Durban Metro Police's Tactical Support Unit, which had gathered intelligence from buyers in the area.

A search warrant was then obtained after weeks of investigations.

The recovered drugs include Mandrax tablets, crack cocaine, and heroin.

The community of Capricorn has been left shocked and angry following the death of a woman who was seen being dragged by the members of @SAPoliceService. It is reported that a woman opened an assault case at the Muizenberg police station, but when officers arrived, the suspect was at work. The officers then became angry and arrested the suspect’s younger sister instead. Residents tried to intervene and explain to the officers that they had arrested the wrong person, but none of them appeared willing to listen. It is said that the woman whom these tyrants wrongfully arrested had lost her baby only the previous week, and her C-section wound had not yet healed. She pleaded with the officers, repeatedly asking for forgiveness and explaining her circumstances, even though she had committed no crime and had nothing to do with the assault. Her pleas and tears went unheeded. The officers dragged her to their vehicle. Upon arrival at the police station, she collapsed and died at the entrance. It is said that the officers shouted at her, telling her to stop pretending to be dead and to get up, only to discover that she had already passed away. @RSA_IPID
