I remember being in a laerskool many years ago and having a deep desire to be white because those kids seemed to have it all. My rent’s reference to fancy appliances being “dilo tsa makgowa” further fuelled this desire. Yhu ah ah. The trauma of being black needs counselling.

With the plethora of needs (most basic and urgent) of developing countries, the youth should be skilled to solve problems, not for individual fulfilment. Passion should therefore not be the anchor for obtaining education in a certain field.
