@pluant There is a lot to be said about the postmodern critique of modernism. And there definitely is a big generational difference between the older priests and younger ones in these traditional groups.
St. Hildegard wrote an antiphon about Eve and Mary. Eve was a cloud in which the stars were darkened; Mary the dawn in which they were rekindled. What was struck down in a woman was raised up in a woman.
“A woman instituted death (..)
The Serpent Has Suffocated in a Woman.”
Our Lady of Perpetual Help
The image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was created in the 15th century, and was brought from a Cretan monastery - possibly after being taken by a merchant - to Rome, where it entered the Church of San Matteo on Via Merulana in 1499. It remained there until the church was looted in 1798. In 1865, Pope Pius IX entrusted the icon to the Redemptorist Fathers, who placed it in their church of Sant’Alfonso di Liguori on Rome’s Esquiline Hill.
Devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help began in Crete, reflected by the icon’s Byzantine style featuring a gold background and traditional Eastern symbolism. The image is painted on wood with a gold leaf background. Our Lady's eyes are directed towards the beholder with an expression of tender reproach, and speak eloquently of her great anguish at the sufferings of her Son. The crown, halo, and rich ornamentation highlight her status as Queen of Heaven. Notable symbolic details include the single sandal hanging by a strap (representing sinners barely holding on through devotion to Mary), the child grasping Mary’s hand (signifying her powerful intercession), and the angels conveying Christ's future suffering. The Redemptorist priests were instrumental in propagating this devotion, emphasizing Mary’s unceasing mercy.
@KNTFootball Hopefully we can win a game or two. But as other Korean commentators have noted, we have fallen significantly behind Japanese football. It's going to take at least 4-8 years to catch up with the right leadership.
@Coreygray199020@CClarkReport You know nothing about basketball. Her feet went sideways and her left foot that went up and down landed on the defender’s foot.
