@SportsFinance Totally agree, once we have a strong squad with first team quality throughout and performing well, we can then embed players like Bergvall. At the moment we have too many of that profile. This is us now unwinding the terrible squad building and resetting to perform quickly.
@jonoblain I’m of the same view. Potentially a good player but doesn’t stand out for me compared to other young top talents we have had in the past. Imagine he will be a good top 8 player at some point but not this superstar all these tacticos bang on about. Take £40-50m for him now.
@ryantegan He’s be far better suited in Italy, he would cause lots of problems there. Not huge money in Italy but may be a few players we could look at swapping.
@Billie_T This is it Billie, it’s such a poorly built squad that we have too many players of the same profile and at the same stage of development. We can’t wait for all of them. We have to risk selling some now for good money (Bergvall, Vuskovic) & hope we made the right call on Gray etc
@adamdnathan Should also say, we have built such a mess of squad in terms of profile and quality, that we are overloaded on potential but lack real quality now. That means we need to risk moving some on now like Bergvall and hope we make the right call on ones we keep like Gray
@adamdnathan I agree, potentially a v good player but I couldn’t tell you what he does other than run around and look busy. Travels well with the ball but haven’t seen him pass well or look a threat. Potential is high but if we can’t give him the game time to develop, then move him on.
@georgeachillea Not sure Gallagher is a 10, think he played there out of necessity. I think one of the two wide players we being in will be capable of playing centrally to cover Maddison.
@georgeachillea With no Europe next season, if we signed 2 new CMs for eg Tonali and Fernandes, with Gray, Gallagher and Bentancur then it’s enough. Sell Sarr and Bergvall for £80m combined and that’s a good return on 2 players we bought for £30m. I like Bergvall but not concerned if he goes.
@matthayesthfc De Zerbi wants players who want to play for Tottenham and no one is a guaranteed starter. Vuskovic, a 19 year old with one season in Germany, is in conflict to that. Too much surrounding him. Long term, he won’t be there anyway as he would demand a move. Take the money.
@pokeefe1@stockarje@HotspurLane I’m hoping 5 (2 CM, 2 Winger and 1 Striker) - do you think we will look at Vlahovic and Wilson given the funds earmarked for the midfielders? It’s great we are building from the back but we need creativity big time!
@pokeefe1@BentancurGoat I don’t think he will have many options and we could pay him £200k a week. No brainer. Goals, pace, technical ability. Much rather him than Savinho.
@SB8308715342770@JayDolton_ Don’t need that around the squad and future windows. Vibe around him isn’t great, I’d take the cash (£50m+) and invest in players that want to be here. A 19 y/o with one good season in Germany should call the shots to spurs
@SB8308715342770 Think Spence could go, and add on all the academy players out on loan (Devine, donley, Philips, dorrington) think we could end up around £250m. Would be a surprise if Bentancur went too to make room for another CM alongside Tonali
