It was fantastic to hear so many children and adults recommending books to each other throughout the day and sharing a love of reading. When you see the excitement of the children and hear "that was brilliant" when you arrive back in school, you know it was a day well spent!
Thank you to the fabulous staff @BookmarkLincs and at Spalding Library @lincslibraries for welcoming all of the children from Weston Hills today. Every single child in our school had a #WorldBookDay2023 visit to the bookshop to use their £1 token and had a visit to the library.
@WSHEnglishHub@MichaelaJHoward@OpenUni_RfP Thank you for another great session. Mrs Burton (TSM) and Miss Parker (WH) both came away with lots of lovely new ideas for both schools.
The children at WH have been given the opportunity to 'Read & Review' some fabulous new, football themed, @tompalmerauthor books through @readingagency Many of the girls have been taking part in an @inspire_plus lunchtime football club this term, so the timing was perfect too.
The library van made a stop in Tydd St Mary last week so the children took the opportunity to hop on board and choose some further #readingforpleasure books. Thanks @lincslibraries- looking foward to your next visit.
Our WH Reading Ambassadors first task is to promote our new 'Children's Laureate' corridor displays. We want to encourage our children to dive into the work of @CressidaCowell @JosephACoelho @chrisriddell50 Lauren Child & Julia Donaldson. We have EYFS/KS1 and KS2 displays.
Huge thankyou to the @NorfolkCBC for the update to our fiction library at Weston Hills over the summer. The shelves are much emptier than they were at the start of the year, so there are lots of lovely new books in our children's reading diets.
