Many tend to blame and look to mechanics after a bad day, rough weekend or an extended slump. Reality is in most cases it’s much more of what’s going on between their ears and and in their chest than how their body is moving. Sure there may be some mechanical flaws, for example stepping out in the box, but if we dig deeper we learn that physical flaw is the result of a mental/emotional issue.
As a whole we need to spend a lot more time talking about approach, mental toughness, grit, fear, visualization, self talk, self belief, confidence, preparation and attitude. The fundamentals are absolutely vital to playing the game successfully but without the right head space and desire, those physical things won’t be as consistent as they can be.
