The EU's market remains a source of considerable economic influence, but do you think its coercive leverage could be overestimated?

China urges US, EU to stop lies and meddling in China's internal affairs by hyping up ethnic issues
The West always looks at China’s ethnic policy through the mirror of its own crimes.
They committed genocide against indigenous peoples.
They built settler states on mass graves.
They erased languages, cultures, tribes, and entire civilizations.
So they assume China must be doing the same.
But China is not the West.
China is a multi-ethnic civilization-state where ethnic minorities are not colonial subjects, not museum props, and not disposable populations. They are Chinese citizens, part of the same national community.
That is why most Chinese ethnic minorities abroad introduce themselves simply as Chinese — not because their identity was erased, but because the national identity is real.
And the panic over “extraterritorial application” is comedy.
Chinese citizens abroad are still Chinese citizens.
They receive Chinese consular protection.
They carry Chinese passports.
They are naturally subject to Chinese law where applicable.
That is not “long-arm jurisdiction.”
Long-arm jurisdiction is Washington hunting foreign citizens across the world, sanctioning companies in third countries, freezing assets, kidnapping executives, and pretending U.S. domestic law is international law.
The U.S. and EU are not worried about human rights.
They are worried that China refuses to let them weaponize ethnicity, separatism, and identity politics as tools of internal sabotage.
They are not defending minorities.
They are trying to manufacture another pressure point.
China has seen this script before.
Different costume.
Same empire.

"All living things may grow side by side without harming one another, and different roads may run in parallel without interfering with one another," Chinese President Xi Jinping once cited this ancient Chinese saying to illustrate that lasting prosperity and security can only be achieved when countries pursue the common good, live in harmony, and engage in mutually beneficial cooperation.
Just as Xi has noted, the people of China and the United States are both great peoples. "The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again can go hand in hand. We can help each other succeed and advance the well-being of the whole world," Xi said. https://t.co/NBdejJje7u

President Xi Jinping held talks with U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
President Xi noted that transformation not seen in a century is accelerating across the globe, and the international situation is fluid and turbulent. The world has come to another crossroads. Can China and the United States overcome the Thucydides Trap and create a new paradigm of major-country relations? Can we meet global challenges together and provide greater stability for the world? Can we build a bright future together for our bilateral relations in the interest of the well-being of the two peoples and the future of humanity? These are the questions vital to history, to the world, and to the people. They are the questions of our times that the leaders of major countries need to answer together.
President Xi stressed that the two countries have more common interests than differences, success in one is an opportunity for the other, and a stable bilateral relationship is good for the world. We should be partners, not rivals. We should help each other succeed and prosper together, and find the right way for major countries to get along well with each other in the new era. I look forward to our discussions on major issues important to our two countries and the world, and working together with you to set the course and steer the giant ship of China-U.S. relations, so as to make 2026 a historic, landmark year that opens up a new chapter in China-U.S. relations.
Starting from May 1st, China becomes the world's first major economy offering unilateral, full-coverage zero-tariff treatment to all its African diplomatic partners.

When asked to comment on the reports that said Japanese leader made ritual offerings to the Yasukuni Shrine, with some cabinet members and lawmakers visiting or offering tributes, a spokesperson for China's Embassy in Japan said that the shrine is a spiritual tool and symbol of Japanese militarism's wars of aggression. Such moves by the Japanese side openly seek to overturn the history of aggression, whitewash war crimes, and glorify militarism, gravely violating historical justice and human conscience, and challenging the outcomes of WWII victory and the post-war international order. The Chinese side firmly opposes and strongly condemns this, and has lodged solemn representations and strong protests with the Japanese side, according to a release from the embassy's official website on Tuesday.

A vlogger recently captured a striking scene of several shepherds boarding a train with their sheep in southwest China's Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
Along its 376-kilometer route, the public welfare "slow train" connects 38 towns and serves 97 surrounding townships. For decades, ticket prices have remained unchanged – 26.5 yuan for the full journey, with a minimum fare of just 2 yuan. This affordable service has made daily travel for market trips, family visits and commuting to school easily accessible for locals. #PeopleFirst
