Sen. Cornyn on Trump endorsing Ken Paxton over him:
“If he would do that to me, he would do that to anybody. There’s never going to be good enough for him, other than 100 percent, you know, slavish adherence to whatever he wants. But obviously that’s not what the senator’s role is supposed to be, especially in terms of checks and balances.”
“I think it is going to be a pretty bumpy ride for the next seven months,” Cornyn said in an interview with the NYT. He noted that Trump’s targeting of senators like himself, Sen. Thom Tillis, and Sen. Bill Cassidy gives “Some of us a little more freedom, and certainly leverage.”
“As the president told President Zelensky when he was in his office a year or so ago, he said, ‘You don’t have any cards.’ Well, we’ve got some cards to play,” he added.
"For us, the price is too high and the governance standards are too weak."

Himes: A lot of that is just flat out untrue. Let's just agree that the president has precisely zero credibility on anything that he says about the Iran war. You don't need to be an intelligence expert to understand that the strait of hormuz, you're not moving anything in secret with a good pair of binoculars on either coast. You can see what's happening.

BLUMENTHAL: Was the Capitol attacked on January 6?
TRAYNOR: The actions on January 6 were deeply troubling to watch, but I'm not going to characterize it
BLUMENTHAL: You are perpetuating a lie. That's the loyalty the president demands. I don't know how you can continue as a district court judge, let alone serve on the court of appeals. I think that frankly it's shameful.
The ducks look happy, but what happened to the “American flag blue” Trump wouldn’t stop talking about?
As of yesterday morning, the $14.8 million recoated Reflecting Pool on the National Mall was full of water.
Trump said the project would cost between $1.5 million and $2 million. The blue disappeared, and I guess the extra $12.8 million did too.
