It was my honor to welcome to Texas & host Department of Labor Assistant Secretary Jeremiah Workman and Small Business Administration Regional Director Dr. Tre Pennie for an important discussion on workforce development, skilled trades, and entrepreneurship.

We also had the opportunity to tour ForgeNow, one of Texas’ premier trade schools, where students are gaining the skills needed to succeed in high-demand careers and strengthen our workforce.

While teaching trade skills is critical to meeting the needs of a growing economy, it is equally important to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. Small businesses are the backbone of the Texas economy, driving innovation, creating jobs, and building stronger communities across our state.

By investing in both workforce development and entrepreneurship, we are creating pathways to opportunity, economic prosperity, and long-term success for future generations.🇺🇸🦅
