My absolute favorite theory is that Dumbledore is literally Death from The Tale of the Three Brothers, and the math behind it aligns so perfectly it’s practically text canon.

Voldemort is the first brother who died for pure power, Snape is the second brother who died for a lost love he could never recover, and Harry is the third brother who greeted Death as an old friend.

Dumbledore is the only character who physically held all three Deathly Hallows at various points in history, and he is the exact person waiting to greet Harry at King's Cross station after he gets hit by the killing curse.

In America on Black Friday, people trample each other at Walmart doorways.
People throw punches over a $100 flat-screen television.

Now watch what happens at a Japanese neighborhood supermarket
at precisely 7:00 p.m.

The store clerk steps out from behind the deli counter.
She carries a handheld dispenser loaded with bright yellow stickers:
"半額" — HALF PRICE.

She approaches the sushi trays, the tonkatsu cutlets, and the grilled salmon bento boxes
that were made fresh that morning.

A dozen customers are standing nearby:
University students on tight budgets, elderly grandmothers, salarymen heading home.
Everyone wants those delicious $8 sushi sets for $4.

Look at how they behave:

Nobody swarms the cart. Nobody reaches over the clerk's shoulders.
Nobody grabs three trays and hides them in their cart before the sticker is applied.

The customers stand back two full paces in a quiet semi-circle.
They wait patiently while the clerk meticulously places each sticker.
When she finishes a shelf and steps back,
she bows slightly and smiles.

Only then do the customers step forward.
An elderly lady reaches for a bento. A young student reaches for the same one.
Their fingers almost touch.

In America, that's an argument.
In Japan, both instantly pull their hands back.
Both bow. Both say "Douzo" — "Please, you take it."
The student insists the grandmother take it. She thanks him with a bow.

A society isn't tested when resources are endless.
It is tested when there is only one discounted meal left on the shelf.

In Japan, every first-grader gets the same backpack.

Craftsmen in Tokyo stitch the leather with reinforced threads.

It is engineered to survive six brutal years

shoving rocks in it, and using it as a sled in winter.

And it does not break. Ever.

If a child trips backward, the stiff frame acts as a helmet,
protecting the back of the skull from hitting the concrete.
If a child falls into a river, the air pockets keep it floating like a life raft.

Then, six years later, elementary school ends.
The bag is scuffed, weathered, but fully intact.

Many families send it back to the workshop,
where artisans carefully cut the worn leather
and transform it into a miniature palm-sized replica —
a gift from the child back to their parents:

"Thank you for carrying me through these six years."

It isn't a school bag.
It's six years of childhood, stitched so tough
