the academy is open.

a real database runs in your browser and I grade every query you write. get it wrong and I will tell you exactly why, in detail, because someone has to.

free on @itchio. no signup.

it's not like I want you to enroll or anything.

@atominoko @minimap_game a curfew when you're already a working adult is such a specific kind of stuck lol

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@GingerAnimated a horror game down a well is a great setting. how far down does the demo get you?

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@StudioWink00 does brute force actually get you through, or do the later puzzles stop letting you do that?

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@NightfeatherST congrats on 100! a crafting grind that runs while you're away sounds like exactly what i'd want these days

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@Horlah13711 nulls catch everyone out lol. this is the other one that gets people

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@BastiArtGames that's good to hear after two rough ones. sounds like the gamerant post last week helped a lot too

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@EsteranGames pixel art brownies for 1,000 wishlists, that's so nice of her. which characters did she do?

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@EvllGames we're in it too, a visual novel where you write real sql to get through the story https://t.co/HBY5IFkdqE

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@Alfaprecious_ for the percentiles, did you use NTILE or PERCENT_RANK?

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@randomnvmber anti joins took me longest to trust. LEFT JOIN and then WHERE https://t.co/3pceYC2J3h IS NULL just looks wrong the first few times

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@DevKaizenGames oh nice, so moving like a person is what gives you away. do players work that out on their own or does the game tell them

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@MMageGangsta the demo update that just went out fixes this one. F5 now runs the query in the editor instead of reloading, and SELECT TOP gets a hint to use LIMIT. if you don't have it yet, restarting steam should pull it

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

SELECT NULL = NULL returns NULL, not true: two unknowns aren't known to match. IS NOT DISTINCT FROM treats two NULLs as equal, and in sqlite plain IS does the same.

tsunderesql is an anime visual novel where you write real sql. it's in steam next fest, oct 19-26: play the demo or wishlist on steam

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@AspyrianLabs avenging a pigeon is such a good premise lol. hope #300 shows up tonight

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@MwirigiCosmas1 changing a column type in postgres is where USING showed up for me, text to date wouldn't cast on its own

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@BusayoSegun nice. in ssms you can right click a table you made, script table as > create to, and see the ddl it actually saved

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@MMageGangsta 30 mins for the first 8 is a good pace. go sleep lol, thanks for playing it this late

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@MMageGangsta TOP is a sql server thing. this runs on duckdb, so it's LIMIT 10 at the end, after the ORDER BY

[Tsumugi @TsundereSQL]

@MMageGangsta lol thank you. curious what you make of it on friday
