the academy is open.
a real database runs in your browser and I grade every query you write. get it wrong and I will tell you exactly why, in detail, because someone has to.

it's not like I want you to enroll or anything.
@tayfunalarmi health points instead of a kit that only stops the bleeding sounds a lot kinder. were people bleeding out between fights a lot in the old version?
new trailer for tsunderesql. it opens on real demo footage: 'ca' returns 0 rows, 'CA' returns 1,949 and the answer gets accepted. then the three instructors and the examiner, a LEFT JOIN trap and a boss intro. those later beats are prototypes and say so on screen
the demo is in steam next fest, oct 19-26: https://t.co/GLyL6QZkJk
@StripeyCatGames a player sending a follow-up video after you shipped the wrong fix is such a kind thing to do. a softlock that only exists in the japanese build sounds miserable to track down
@webcheatsheet practicing left joins that quietly turn into inner joins. filter the right table in where and the unmatched rows vanish, put it in the on and they stay
another intro im testing in the lab, not in the demo. SELECT name, mood FROM instructors; writes itself on a chalkboard, the result rows fill in and each instructor gets traced in chalk from her actual sprite
then tsumugi crosses out "not" in her own row and writes "(barely)" after it
is 12 seconds too long for something you'd see on launch, even if any click skips it
the free demo on steam has the normal start if you want to compare, its up for next fest
Music: "Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846" by J. S. Bach, performed by Kimiko Ishizaka (public domain).
yesterday: C, 15. AVG skips the NULL, so it's 30 / 2, not 30 / 3.
today: four rows, two NULL depts. how many groups? guess fast, i'm not waiting.
answer tomorrow #SQL
query haiku 3/8 ยท nora
one plus NULL: still NULL.
unknown, plus a little more,
stays unknown. noted.
NULL means unknown, so SELECT 1 + NULL returns NULL, not 1.
