This is our day. ❤️ Happy day to us and who we are. Whether you call yourself Anishnaabe, Indigenous, First Nation, remember who you are and where you come from. It’s a day to celebrate and reflect on all that we are, all that we have been, and all that we can become. ❤️
I spoke during two events last week about how recruiting students who are currently underrepresented to programs is not just about the entrance pathway. It’s about creating learning environments that are culturally safe and anti-racist and trauma-informed. Both need to happen.

A few questions to prompt an equity analysis re: online school:
(1) who has space/internet/tech?
(2) who can stay home to supervise their children/hire extra help or tutors?
(3) who has psychological/physical safety at home?
(4) how does it impact students with disabilities?
I reminded people in two different meetings today with different organizations that they cannot collect and analyze data about Indigenous people in their institutions —whether staff or patients or learners—without data stewardship agreements.
As we go into elections, what are the signs made of and how are they disposed of? There is always a lot them, and are they just adding to our waste problem. There is so much ways to advertise through various media channels, I just want to know what the intent of them are.
I’m seeing firsthand how leaders are going to have to adapt their leadership style in the workplace. There are so many things that employees are dealing with right now that we have no knowledge about. Be kind always.
Had a conversation today with someone about knowing when something is off and taking care of yourself. Self-awareness and knowing who you are is very important when it comes to taking care of your mental health. Always take care of and trust yourself.
Resting is not a waste of time. It's an investment in well-being.
Relaxing is not a sign of laziness. It's a source of energy.
Breaks are not a distraction. They're a chance to refocus attention.
Play is not a frivolous activity. It's a path to connection and creativity.
Personality is how you respond on a typical day. Character is how you show up on your worst day.
It's easy to demonstrate fairness, integrity, and generosity when things are going well.
The real question is whether you stand by those values when the deck is stacked against you.
