One of the most hurtful statements?
Is that "if you want to talk about male victims, do so in your own space".
We do. All the time.
To total silence.
Its almost like you dont really give a toss.
I'm logging out again.
With every tragedy I hold false hope that it might, just might find a unified kinship across the board.
All genders, races, beliefs.
I am always left disappointed and disheartened.
A whole thread on female abuse towards men.
Ignored? No, just normalised in society.
At times when we should be acknowledging that the behaviour is the problem, not gender.
Instead, it's weaponised.
Want to see an end?
You start by acknowledging all victims at all times.
Same goes for policing today.
BLM, miners, Liverpool. All victims.
If it's only a problem, and extendable only so far as your group when affected?
And actively working to exclude and dismiss all others?
You're part of the problem.
Whataboutism
Sometimes it's irrelevant, but many times it's people trying to hold up a mirror to grotesque double standards applied to different people.
And most people dismiss it because it's inconvenient.
@BarristerAbi@davidallengreen Like most things in society, it's not their problem till it seems to affect them personally.
Some of those speaking out today, would have been cheering police violence directed at me a week ago.
All that said? Doesn't matter.
Because police violence is never acceptable.
@Shafia05566882 @isolation_dj @Harryslaststand I didn't have a clue till this week of that case.
Still not seen anything of substance in any kind of reporting.
@ChardineTaylor@Harryslaststand We live in a society where, to talk of the victimhood of one group can only be at the expense of others.
Always used as a tactic to silence and control.
Until we start acknowledging shared suffrage, not dismissing because of different colour, gender etc, it'll never improve.
I only have one addition.
Comparisons of the Scottish police to The MET.
The Scottish police have always, generally been lighter handed.
And I have not yet seen evidence of Scottish affairs.
So will hold judgement till then on them.
What the hell are the police doing?
I keep seeing comparisons of handling, and it's fair to do so.
It's really not that difficult to distinguish between a mob out to destroy, and a peaceful vigil!
The MET however don't surprise me.
They have a long history of violence.
Seeing a lot of stats being thrown around to justify some atrocious standpoints and beliefs.
Problem, as always, they're not true.
It takes a 5 minute search.
@rimiica Predatory behavior by women is normalised in society.
Don't know if you've seen the other screen grabs, but it consisted in large parts of female profiles proudly saying they get sex when they want. And men don't have a say in the matter.
And far more agreeing with them.
Men, who are raped by women, are not recognised in law. Sexual assault and domestic violence aren't much better.
Choose your words and claims carefully.
You're demonizing victims who don't share equal rights. And are not even counted to your statistical claims outside studies.
