“What should I look for in a coach?”
-Recruit
#CSTruth
-A coaching style that you enjoy
-A culture you enjoy
-An HONEST but CARING coach
-Knowledgeable of the game
-Prioritizes development of the game
-Prioritizes preparation for life after soccer (a mentor)
-Can you carry a conversation with them about life (so someone not socially awkward)
-a coach with a Personality
-goal oriented for the team and school
Ultimately, Seek out coaches who consistently demonstrate their commitment to celebrating your achievements, not just on your verbal commitment day or national signing day, but throughout your ENTIRE journey.
Not all coaches possess the same level of dedication and selflessness, so finding those people who genuinely prioritize the success of others is truly invaluable.
Ask current and former players what they think of their coach. Ask players who have transferred out as well. Do your research!
