Great to see former Notre Dame High School athlete Dylan Langholf in a new role. Dylan, who has been battling cancer for three years, was a caddy at today's OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Championships at Metamora Fields.
Inspirational: Marcus Freeman on becoming the first Black and Asian American head coach to make the FBS national championship:
"I hope all coaches, minorities, Black, Asian, white, it doesn't matter..get opportunities to lead like this."
👏👏👏
WATCH: Marcus Freeman discusses Notre Dame’s trick play late in the game on 4th down that caused Georgia to jump offsides & basically end the game.
Riley Leonard then interrupts to say Freeman is being humble & that Freeman tweaked the design 2 days ago & made it better.
I really cannot imagine anyone could have handled the Northern Illinois loss — and everything that happened after — as well as Marcus Freeman did.
What a credit to his leadership and the mental/physical toughness of this Notre Dame team.
Whoa. Brock Bowers of Georgia wins the Mackey Award over Michael Mayer of Notre Dame.
Bowers: 52 catches, 726 yards, 6 TDs
Mayer: 67 catches 809 yards, 9 TDs
Mayer was the No. 1 tight end in the country per @PFF. Bowers was 7th. This feels like an absolute snub.
