I'm not sure how this [fictional] thing would taste or what would happen after. Maybe you think you can 'glide' off the balcony like Sora. 💀
For those of you who dont know what ADHD is, its basically just naturally having a lower amount of dopamine (the hormone in control of pleasure and motivation) and seratonin (the hormone that controls memory, learning, happiness, sleep, sexual behavior, etc.) than normal people. This is why people with ADHD drink caffeine and dont get wired. Caffeine is a stimulant and increases dopamine, so for someone with low dopamine, it just brings us up to normal dopamine levels (like someone without ADHD). The same reason why people without ADHD when they take Adderall, they get wired and hyperfocused, whereas someone with ADHD, it just brings them up to normal dopamine & seratonin levels and makes them feel "normal". I feel like there is a lot of stigma about people with ADHD just being lazy, and depressed, when it's LITERALLY a hormonal imbalance we're born with. So if you feel like you're constantly unmotivated, have poor memory, trouble learning, or just are hard to please, you probably have ADHD.
It's #ADHDAwarenessMonth
I was diagnosed in August at 28 years old. Since then I've been learning about how my ADHD effects me, what my limits are, and how to manage them.
Here's some common misconceptions about #ADHD 🧵
