not too many moths last night in Gorseinon , but a few good one . Red Sword grass and very early Miller . star moth was a fem Emperor in the trap which bolted before i could photo it 😡Powdered quaker also of which I get one to two a year

a good new moth for me , Chevron in the garden trap today plus a Phoenix which is pretty uncommon here .
Bonus Cattle Egret with punk hair-do on my local patch . not uncommon now , just the first i’ve seen here

a few pics of the Caspian Tern which was at Castell Du on the high tide . it was on the Glamorgan side when i came across it , before moving off down river ,,, heart rate , just a bit !

set the trap last night as it was mild but breezy …blowing a hoolie at dawn ..0/0 until last egg box …1/1 and a Satellite ! not common round here , and most hoped for . tidy start . 3 male blackcap briefly fist light y’day , feeding on Himalayan Honeysuckle berries .

the temperatures dipped overnight , so a few pics from last week in the Gorseinon moth trap . long awaited 2nd Gem and long hoped-for White-speck the highlights for me . Several RDPs , a few Vestals and Silver ys . singles of P. vit and SB Straw

@Gowermoss @MigrantMothUK only half a mile away and most moths giving me a wide birth ! no migrants for a couple of weeks and only record of Gem 10 years ago ! total lottery when the trap goes on !

@MikeCram5 @Gowermoss @GOWEROS1 i went to Overton valley then west covering the next 2 valleys just past Longhole cliff . Garden warbler the only other warbler sp other than chiff and blackcap . a few small flocks of chaffinch , mead pip etc .. maybe tomorrow ?

a smart wonderer from the coast made me work for it . about 7 foot up the side of the house by the trap via step ladder and potted . one Archers dart . a few Vestal , several Silver Ys and 2 P. vitrealis over a few nights . Treble-bar and Peach Blossom added some colour
