This is the eighth version of a reaction I’ve written to Episode 1 tonight.

Not because the first seven were bad.

Because each one landed too close to something someone else had already said.

“It took me a year and a half to digest.”

That line stopped me for a different reason than most people probably stop on it.

His first understanding of what happened wasn’t the full picture either.

It took that long to get past the version he could understand at the time.

I’ve been doing a much smaller version of that same thing for hours.

Writing something.

Thinking I’ve got it.

Reading it again.

Realizing I’m still missing the actual point.

That’s probably what stayed with me most from Episode 1.

@GenLayer didn’t just come from something that happened to @kstellana.

It came after a very long process of understanding what that experience actually meant.
