I used to donate $100 to law enforcement each year when a particular organization would seek donations. They would give me a car window sticker that looked like a badge.
I'm not going to do that any longer. I've watched one organization for law enforcement officers after another the last few months endorsing Donald Trump.
Until these organizations get their heads out of their asses, and I stop seeing photos of entire departments posing for a group picture with Trump, they can peddle that BS to someone else.
My son took this picture today and it would make a great album cover. But as scientists we don’t get album covers - perhaps we should start releasing covers with publications?
If SCOTUS was serious about their ludicrous “colorblindness” claims, they would have abolished legacy admissions, aka affirmative action for the privileged.
70% of Harvard’s legacy applicants are white. SCOTUS didn’t touch that - which would have impacted them and their patrons.
@schock Thanks a lot for taking a look at the paper. Really learned a lot from the Design Justice Summit at MIT that you were a speaker in. @monicarima2 @anastasiaostrow
Just came across this article, "Incorporating Design Justice Activities in Engineering Courses," by Dr. Shuvra Das, University of Detroit Mercy.
Extremely cool!

My colleague, Dr. Nassif Rayess taught the course on Manufacturing Processes this semester. Under his direction, students did a fun end-of-semster project where they designed, manufactured, and assembled race cars. The cars were raced on a track during the finals.
@Lauren_M_Barr@AcademicChatter I work in this area. Here is one that we all face all the time: we want the students to learn but the message the system sends is that grade is most important above all. Students behave appropriately in response to this message. They are laser-focused on grades.
Attending a fantastic conference on Design Justice @MIT. My daughter @monicarima2 is co-organizing it as part of an awesome team of researchers. #designjusticesummit
The guns in Parkland, Buffalo, El Paso, didn't come from Mexico. They came from the US, and the shooters were inspired by racist, anti-black, anti-immigrant manifestos that rhyme with GOP talking points.
To secure votes for the Bipar Infra Bill, Biden *himself* came to House Progressives & told us was putting his credibility on the line to deliver BBB if CPC voted BIF.
They trusted him. I didn’t think he could promise the Senate. He promised anyway. It’s time for him to deliver.
