With city’s disastrous handling of migrant crisis Pritzker should declare “State of Emergency” & cap number of new migrants, while using National Guard with its 50 Armories & State Police to screen & temporarily house migrants before determining final destination. See Armory Map
Once, just once, we'd like to see a Chicago mayor call for "common sense" criminal prosecutions following a mass shooting instead of reflexively calling for more gun control.
If @ChicagosMayor is interested in leading, he should demand we make crime illegal again.
By the numbers: Homicides may be down for 2023, but robberies are up since this time last year. There have been over 8,500 so far in 2023, compared to 5,400 in 2022.
Reality check: That's still fewer than the 9,500 robberies police logged in 2013.
Mayor’s delayed response to city’s (and nation leading) 31st mass shooting is inadequate. Telling us mass shootings “are not exclusive” and pleading to remove guns off the streets deflects responsibility by dismissively contextualizing them as a national phenomenon.
A smash-and-grab burglary crew hit a sneaker store in Wicker Park this morning, the fourth day this week that similar crimes have been reported in that area and downtown.

15 people shot last night in North Lawndale brings to 31 Chicago’s nation leading mass shootings. This year has seen 537 killed & 2644 shot. Children make up 53 of those killed & 252 of those shot. 82% are Black. Only silence from the Mayor’s office. No sense of urgency.

“Panic Attack in Political Chicago as Biden’s Migrants Swamp the City” @ChicagosMayor was elevated to power only because he was obedient. Now that Biden migrants overwhelm the city, it’s obvious Johnson is panicking.

We're hearing the business of selling fake Social Security numbers to illegals is booming in Ald. Mike Rodriguez's Little Village.
This means illegals will be able to get paid jobs and still receive money from the federal government.
No electricity means more than just terrifying darkness and cold.
It means no ventilators, no surgeries. It means not even basic emergency care.
This is, by definition, a war crime.
@AldermanHopkins Not to make you squint, but there were far more robberies in town from, say, 1989 through 1995 than there will be this year. And as a resident of the city then (as now), I remember concerns about crime but not the freakout we’re now seeing. https://t.co/noJmUrbjf8
ironic that the same anti-law enforcement activists who refer to criminal acts of murder by the sanitized term “gun violence”, don’t want police to know where/when guns are being fired. https://t.co/hlDzgx04JB
The unfortunate reality for all my progressive friends is that few, if any, of the mayor’s social ambitions were going to come to fruition regardless of the migrant crisis, as the city’s finances are a mess and most of his tax plans were legally a non-starter.
