@c_l_blake could you please share your opinion on mothballing rural schools? Do you believe it is a necessary practice or way to bypass statutory consultation by leading constituents down the garden path making them “used to” the idea that schools are no longer available? Thanks
Scotland needs to know what is happening to rural schools, how they are being ignored and closed without the consent of parents and communities which is illegal and undemocratic. Help us share the message, help saving 80% of the Scottish community’s future #saveruraleducation
Anyone fancying a free bottle of wine on us? If so just find our banner below just outside Dunecht on the A944, take a selfie and send it to us to have a chance!
@theresa_may could you please help us shine light on the practice of mothballing rural schools forcing children to leave their small rural settings and move into centralised large facilities with no sufficient resources to provide the care and education to our children?
@PamGosalMSP @Harriet4Gor_Buc @ScotTories How are Tories planning to protect small rural schools from the prescrive of undemcratic mothballing? People should have a say on what happens to their children and not be at the will of local authority officials!
@CllrKathleenL @ThatsTVScotland @Aberdeenshire Thank you for your response. We have asked help to our local councillors but none of them has been willing to help, expect some rare cases, as the powers have been devolved to the ECS. We still believe however they could do more to keep things right
@JohnSwinney if re-elected would you consider imposing a consultation for any school being mothballed if there is a majority of parents opposed to it? Also, nurseries are being mothballed alongside schools despite high numbers but there is no guidance for nurseries mothballing.
@AndrewBowie_MP@ScotTories How are you standing up for rural schools being un democratically closed by the practice of mothballing? We asked for your help before but only heard from @RThomsonMP and @AJABurnett
@theSNP What are you going to do for rural schools and nurseries being closed by the practice of mothballing which is un democratically affecting children and families around the country?
@CraigWHoy1@AJABurnett@ScotTories Do you promise to end the mothballing practice which is closing schools and nurseries bypassing compulsory consultation?
We would be grateful if anyone could spare a few pennies to help us cover our legal costs. Unfortunately this is the only way anyone can stop a local authority decision. We are hoping to change that, but we cannot do this alone.
Thank you ❤️

finding themselves in a strange environment with no friends.
THIS IS WHY IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED, THIS IS WHY WE HAVE TO KEEP TRYING. No more pointing the finger, please help us save our and many other children’s first taste of childhood
If the mothballing of Tullynessle School and Nursery is not stopped by August these 4 happy friends will be separated and will no longer be able to spend time together in their learning settings.
EACH ONE of these Tullynessle children is due to go to 4 different schools/nurseries
It is because of the difficult decision parents and carers had to take to be able to send them to setting without interfering with travel and work.
They are happy close friends experiencing their very first taste of friendship, and they are being ripped apart in August
