ROADSIDE METH LAB - Suspect found carrying one-pot lab
On July 16, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers patrolling near 3rd and Hudson rolled up to a man standing in the middle of the road.

When the Officers went into arrest mode, Riggins responded by tossing a bag he was holding into the grass. As Officers took him into custody, he admitted he had meth in his pocket.
Officers took the bag Riggins ditched and found a bottle full of liquid and burnt batteries, which they knew from experience to be a “one-pot” or “shake and bake” meth lab.

The Officer knew that Barrett had an active felony warrant for her arrest. The gold Ford Taurus that she was driving had an object obstructing her view of the windshield, so Officers initiated a traffic stop.
Officers turned on their lights and sirens near 21st and Sheridan, but Barrett kept driving. Officers kept following but called off the initial chase once Barrett started running red lights.
Officers caught up to the car again, but Barrett had switched seats with her passenger, 28-year-old Brittney Wolfe.

STOLEN TRUCK AND FELONY DRUG ARREST
Cliffs Notes:
The Crime: Suspect steals a truck from a motel parking lot using a spare key left inside the vehicle
Sky Snitch: TPD Air Support tracks the suspect as he gets into a getaway vehicle
The Bust: Officers stop the car, recover the stolen truck keys, and seize 7.7 grams of meth
The Charges: The suspect, 38-year-old Joshua Morton, a multi-time convicted felon, was booked into jail on multiple tribal charges under Muscogee Creek Nation hold
The whole book:
On Friday, July 10, 2026, Tulsa Police Officers responded to the Desert Hills Motel near 5220 E. 11th St. S. for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated his red Ford F150 was taken earlier that morning. Motel surveillance footage revealed that a guest staying in another room, 38-year-old Joshua Morton, jumped in the truck and absconded with it.
Later that evening, an officer spotted the stolen truck parked outside the Speakeasy Lounge near 1861 S. Sheridan Rd. Minutes later, a nearby store employee reported a suspicious man matching Morton's description standing outside.
Our Tulsa Police Helicopter arrived overhead and quickly spotted Morton getting into the back seat of a black Honda sedan. Air Support tracked the sedan eastbound on 21st Street, guiding ground officers to execute a traffic stop, felony style, near 8000 E. 21st St.
As the car pulled over, officers watched a clear plastic bag get tossed out of the rear window. Inside the vehicle, officers searched the floorboard where Morton was sitting and recovered the stolen truck's keys, empty baggies, and glass smoking pipes.
The discarded bag was recovered and field-tested positive for 7.7 grams of meth.
Morton, a confirmed Cherokee Nation member, has a history of multiple prior felony convictions. Because the incident occurred within tribal boundaries, he was booked under Creek jurisdiction for Larceny of an Automobile, Distribution/Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A front-seat passenger in the sedan was also arrested on an outstanding warrant, while the driver was released.
Not victim-blaming. Please remember to double-check your vehicles before walking away! Never leave spare keys, fobs, or valuables inside your car or truck.
This is an arrest and not a conviction

🚨 ARRESTS MADE IN HICKS PARK HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION 🚨
On Monday, July 6, 2026, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Tulsa Police Officers were dispatched to a suspicious activity call regarding a large gathering at Hicks Park.
While responding, the call was upgraded to a shooting. When we arrived, officers found two male victims in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
▪️ Trevin Corona (23) was pronounced deceased on the scene
▪️ A 16-year-old male was located with multiple gunshot wounds and rushed to the hospital in critical condition
The Investigation
Homicide Detectives determined the incident started earlier in the night at a party hosted inside the Bowman Event Center at 2909 S. Sheridan Rd. After that gathering broke up, a large group migrated to Hicks Park.
While at the park, individuals began shooting fireworks at one another. Trevin Corona and the 16-year-old approached a group to confront them about shooting fireworks in their direction, which quickly escalated into a physical disturbance and gunfire.
Our Real-Time Information Center (RTIC) analysts immediately mobilized to track down surveillance footage from all the locations.
The RTIC Analyst performed phenomenal work locating video that captured the shooting, identifying the getaway vehicle as a black 2023 Chevy Trailblazer, and isolating a primary shooter.
Detectives used this information to identify the primary suspect as a 16-year-old male, who was seen in the shooting footage. Kyng Smith was the driver of the getaway vehicle
The Search & Apprehension
A Crime Gun Unit (CGU) Detective successfully located the 16-year-old's group at a home in the 8800 block of E. 91st Pl.
While teams were moving into positions, several individuals, including Kyng Smith, exited the home, entered a Cadillac, and left the area. RTIC quickly identified the Cadillac, placing it on a hotlist in Flock to alert mobile units.
Our Special Operations Team (SOT) rapidly deployed to execute a Creek Nation search warrant at the 16-year-old suspect’s residence.
While he was not inside at that time, a physical search of his bedroom recovered the exact black shirt with white artwork worn during the murder, linking him directly to the scene.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., the Warrants Unit, a K-9 Officer, and the Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD) successfully executed a mobile stop on the Cadillac.
The 16-year-old suspect was located inside the vehicle and fled on foot from officers but was quickly caught after a short pursuit.
He initially refused to identify himself to officers but was positively confirmed.
Simultaneously, Warrants tracked Kyng Smith, who had exited the Cadillac earlier in the evening. BAPD located Smith hiding in the backseat of a separate tan Chevy Impala parked at Aspen Creek Park at 320 S. Oak Ave. in Broken Arrow.
Smith had texted two female acquaintances to pick him up at the park. During a search of the vehicle, an extended pistol magazine was found in Smith's front pocket, and a black Glock .40 caliber pistol with a matching extended magazine was recovered directly hidden under the seat where he was sitting.
Legal Status & Charges
Since the primary suspects involved hold tribal membership, initial bookings have been coordinated alongside federal and tribal authorities:
▪️ The 16-year-old suspect has been processed into the Tulsa Juvenile Detention Justice Center facing tribal Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police Department (Creek) Nation charges for First Degree Felony Murder and Shooting With Intent To Kill.
▪️ Kyng Smith, who has a prior federal conviction for Robbery with a Firearm, was booked under Creek jurisdiction for Accessory to Murder in the Second Degree and Possession of a Firearm AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony).
A Multi-Agency Success
This was a very elaborate investigation that was only possible through a massive, coordinated effort. The swift resolution of this violent incident within 24 hours is a direct result of seamless inter-departmental teamwork.
We extend our immense gratitude to our RTIC Analysts, the CGU Detectives, our Special Operations Team, our Warrants Unit, and K-9 handlers.
We also thank the Broken Arrow Police Department and the Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police Department for their excellent coordination and support.
