Angel Reese claiming she “never had Barbie dolls growing up because they didn’t look like her” is a powerful story.
It is also historically dishonest.
Christie, Barbie's Black friend, entered Barbie’s world in 1968.
The first official Black Barbie arrived in 1980.
American Girl introduced Addy Walker in 1993.
And in 1998, four years before Reese was born, Mattel was already selling Black basketball-playing Barbie dolls in authentic NBA uniforms.
By the time Angel Reese was old enough to walk through a toy aisle, Black dolls had already existed for decades... with different skin tones, hairstyles, careers, fashion lines and athletic identities.
Maybe none of the available dolls felt personally meaningful to her.
But that is very different from suggesting they did not exist.
They did.
Long before Angel Reese was born.
This is another example of a personal anecdote being repackaged into a sweeping cultural grievance that falls apart the moment anyone checks the timeline.
The irony is almost perfect:
A Black basketball Barbie existed before Angel Reese did.
The hardest part to watch isn’t even the mentally ill, jobless activists.
It’s the women coaches.
Every coach has had the chance to stand with Sophie Cunningham. Every single one has chosen to let her stand alone. Remember that.
NEW: ESPN praises Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve for her trans shirt, which was an apparent jab at Sophie Cunningham who said women should be protected from men in their sports.
What a total mess the WNBA is.
They spent years demanding they get respect and now that they have more attention, you have head coaches advocating for men in their sport.
Trans Kids Belong? WNBA had a stadium full of women Booing a woman, sophie cunningham, because she said the WNBA & Womens Sports Should Be For Women Only!!! We are literally in Bizarro World!
If you don’t think he’s a woman, you’re transphobic. When he claimed to be a woman, he became a woman. He now belongs in women’s changing rooms, bathrooms, hospital wards, prison cells and rape support centres.
If you try and differentiate between him and a trans woman who looks more convincing as a woman, you are promoting patriarchal beauty norms. If you admit to seeing an aggressive and possibly unbalanced man in this video, you’re saying all trans people are mentally ill predators. If you refuse to let him into female-only spaces, you’re removing his right to exist. If you suggest he could comfortably use male facilities, you secretly want him assaulted. If you refuse to call him ‘she’, you are guilty of unpardonable cruelty. If you’re a woman who wouldn’t want to share a locker room with him, or a man who wouldn’t want your daughter, sister or mother to get undressed in close proximity to him, you belong to the far-right. If you point out that there is no objective difference between his claim to be a woman and that of any other biological male claiming a trans identity, you are too stupid to understand the circular arguments explaining why he’s not really trans whereas other men who say they’re women are really trans.
If you’re righteous, you must argue that this man’s self-declared identity overrides any consideration of the safety and rights of females. To be godly, you must agree he’s as ‘valid’ as every other trans woman, because people are who they say they are. No matter what your eyes, ears and common sense are telling you, if you don’t want to end up on the wrong side of history, you must pretend to believe that this angry, intimidating man is actually a vulnerable, oppressed woman.
Dear Stephanie White,
Since you said you weren't "educated enough from a scientific standpoint" to say whether men should compete in women's sports or not, let me "educate" you.
- Males have significantly more lean muscle mass.
- On average, men have 30-40% more upper-body strength.
- After puberty, men have up to 20x more testosterone, which leads to greater muscle development, higher power output, & faster strength gains.
- Males have higher bone density, wider shoulders, & typically longer reach.
- Men produce more fast-twitch muscle fibers, which helps with explosive movements
- Males generally have larger hearts & lungs, contributing to higher aerobic capacity.
- Men have, on average, a 10–12% higher hemoglobin concentration, allowing the blood to carry more oxygen during exercise, which is why WNBA games & seasons are shorter than the NBA
- Males typically have a 15–20% higher VO₂ max than similarly trained females, improving endurance performance.
- Men have larger & stronger tendons & ligaments, allowing them to tolerate higher force production.
- Males typically possess larger skeletal frames, including bigger hands and feet, which can improve leverage & force generation in sports.
- Men generally recover quicker between maximal power efforts because of greater absolute muscle mass & anaerobic power.
Now you have no excuse to not say "men don't belong in women's sports," I'm looking forward to you standing with Sophie Cunningham on this issue 🤝
A WNBA co-owner berated a group of young girls, some in tears, for supporting fair sports for women.
Their crime? Showing up to a Seattle Storm game to back Sophie Cunningham and a referendum that would keep biological males out of girls’ sports.
Celeste Keaton allegedly called them “f’ing insane.”
This is the same league that preaches “girl power” and “inspiring young women”… until those young women refuse to bow to the trans agenda.
Grown adults bullying children for defending reality.
JK Rowling called the girls “heroines.” She’s right.
The WNBA keeps proving it’s more interested in ideology than actual women’s sports.
I truly believe there is a safe space and love for EVERYBODY. Biological girls, biological boys, trans women, and trans men. Everyone is welcome at my table! You can disagree and still be kind.
Bravo to those girls for standing up for what they believe. You’ll be hearing from me soon💕 yay for gifts.
Truly embarrassing of the co-owner. Unfortunately shows the type of leader she is.
Footage obtained by @FoxNews shows the young Sophie Cunningham fans also face a confrontation with a grown man and a woman with him. The man shouted "take the trash out" to arena staff, in reference to the girls and the other supporters with them.
An ownership group that endlessly lectures fans about inclusion now has a serious question to answer.
A circulating report alleges that Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton confronted, cursed at and verbally berated two young fans courtside.
Their offense?
Holding signs that read:
“We Love You Sophie”
“Thank You Sophie for Standing Up for Girls”
Let that sink in: A powerful adult allegedly intimidated young paying customers for peacefully supporting a player... while “No Hate” messaging sat nearby.
That is not tolerance. It is ideological bullying.
@seattlestorm, @WNBA, @CathyEngelbert: Review the arena footage. Interview the fans and witnesses. Examine the security reports. Then tell the public exactly what happened.
You demand accountability from ordinary fans whenever allegations arise. Now apply that same standard to ownership.
If this report is accurate, Celeste Keaton owes those young women a public apology... and the Storm owe every fan an explanation.
“No hate” means absolutely nothing when it only protects those who agree with you.
Fans deserve answers.
I decided to make a collection of some of the takes Monica McNutt has shared about Caitlin Clark. U be the judge of how she feels about Caitlin who has done what wrong exactly ? Besides help grow the league and relevance levels to a point no one thought possible
Monica McNutt hears Caitlin Clark explain that the media’s false characterizations are emotionally exhausting... and immediately responds by falsely characterizing her again.
You cannot parody this level of arrogance.
ESPN isn’t covering Caitlin Clark anymore. It’s manufacturing a fictional version of her, attacking that fiction, and calling it analysis.
This isn’t journalism.
