The thing I hate most about the "markets" narrative is that it's couched in a fear narrative and feels errily like a ransom. We cannot say fear-mongering is bad from some quarters but ok from others.
What can never be questioned - we voted and blew the ANC out the water. And yet, not a single tank on the roads, not one call of rigging from the ANC. Acceptance of loss and outcome. This is very rare on our continent. Don’t take it for granted.
If you’re suffering from a feeling of overwhelm, it might be useful to ask yourself this question:
"In the midst of overwhelm, is life not showing me exactly what I should subtract?"
This is fake news. Also, you know that you're spreading inaccurate news. Unless you're an MP that doesn't understand the voting process. Not sure which alternative scares me more
The results might only be out on Sunday. Over the next few days social media will be full of all kinds of videos that want to create panic and doubt about the elections.
Please don’t share them.
Some people want violence and chaos. Don’t give it to them.
Terribly sorry, but it's obvious that the IEC's performance was appalling today. Absolute travesty for such a watershed moment for the country.
STAY IN THE LINE
Let’s do it for Marikana. For farm workers. For victims of gender-based violence. For the unemployed. For those without running water. For Palestine. For the Cape Flats. For children who die using the toilet at school. For those who have waited too long to see justice happen.🇿🇦

A legal victory - I hope it will translate to meaningful relief for Palestinians and bring a halt to the worst of the atrocities. But we still need more!
My heart is bursting with pride. Didn't know what to expect from this ruling, but this feels historic.
And yes, I know it comes down to.wjat will happen after this. But just for a second, let's just acknowledge what this means
PROVISIONAL MEASURES
Israel must:
- prevent genocide [full definition] in Gaza
- ensure its forces do not commit genocide
- prevent & punish direct incitement to commit genocide
- urgently provide humanitarian aid
- preserve evidence
- submit report to the ICJ before 26 February
Kinda what @OfferZen built. Strongly believe this only works when there's a supply/demand mismatch with more supply than demand. Otherwise employers have the upper hand
They said cold plunging in the morning is like natures caffeine and I’m inclined to think the girlies weren’t lying bc I feel like I could run up a mountain.

I need us all to recognize something.
Yes, Israel's legal team was badly prepared and openly incompetent.
However. It is a mistake to believe that merit determines outcomes.
Israel is lazy for the reason white men in leadership are mediocre: Privilege creates impunity.
You know what's wild? As a DEI practitioner in South Africa, these are things I would hear tech leaders say. "We just want good talent" as if a more diverse staff would be less talented. As if hiring in underrepresented people = lowering the standard.
Dear SA journalists; here's a free idea. Please sit down with Dr Navi Pillay for her reflections on the work of team South Africa at the ICJ this week. Mam Navi was a judge of the ICJ & President of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She lives among us. (1/2)
i beg you all. while it's important to talk about palestine, please don't ignore what's happening in congo. congo barely has any media coverage, we need to talk about it more.
