"Şöyle şöyle yaparsanız böyle böyle hakları kazanırsınız bakın böyle yapılır. Şunlar daha önemli." diye konuşacaksanız 2019-2020 faaliyet ve kazanımlar raporunuzu paylaşırsanız biz de ona göre inanalım arkadaşlar. Malum diğer türlü bilemiyoruz yani kimden aktivizm öğreneceğimizi.
Manchester proved especially good for textile production, as the local waterways not only helped power early mills, but also provided soft water to wash and bleach cotton. By the early 20th cent, the city produced so much of the world's cotton fabric, it was known as Cottonopolis
The decline of Manchester's textile production partly follows from this unfair advantage being unsustainable as decolonisation reduced Britain’s ability to organise international trade around its interests.
Turkey is writing a new playbook that is a test on democratic integrity for the whole world. The opposition-capture is definitely a threshold. In addition to why and how this is happening, an important question is what, anywhere, actually stops it.
For a decade and a half, political scientists had a word for Turkey: competitive authoritarianism. Elections that were real but unfair, an opposition that could occasionally win. After last week, the word no longer fits.
A court has removed Özgür Özel, leader of Turkey's main opposition party, the CHP. Not jailed a rival, as it did with the imprisoned Istanbul mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, but reached inside the party itself and decided who may lead it. That is a different threshold, and it is worth being precise about what has been crossed.
After that, we need to ask two questions. Why is Erdoğan doing this, and, the harder one, how is he able to? The answer runs past Erdoğan himself, into the system his rule depends on and protects, and the international silence that surrounds his authoritarianism. The irony is that Erdoğan's toolkit travels far and wide, and no "democracy" is immune, as we are now learning, to these methods of stifling opposition. https://t.co/ke68MOxMaN
When a judge denies a restraining order and the person seeking protection is then killed, it is hard not to see a serious moral failure. They came to the court for safety and were turned away, and died partly because of it.
Woman asked for a restraining order. Male judge says no, mediation first. The man she was seeking safety from was the same person who (allegedly) murdered her the next day.
This is the exact nerve that meaningful work and workplace democracy debates strike. Most modern jobs still operate on a soft version of the old extractive practices.
If you want to know the real meaning of work, read Frederick Douglass's account of his first time working as a free man.
After escaping slavery, his first job was loading coal onto ships. It was new, hard, dirty work.
Here's how he describes it:

İTÜ'de lisans derslerimde tuttuğum not defterlerimi ara sınav ve finallerden önce ozalitçiye götürüp taratır, sınıftakiler de kullansın diye pdf olarak paylaşırdım.
İTÜ’de yüksek lisansta heyecanla girdiğim ilk dersimde, tuhaf görünüşlü arkamda oturan nerd çocuğa dersin referansıyla ilgili küçük bir şey sormuştum. Bana, “no pain, no gain” araştır kendin bul demişti.
Şok oldum, ama zamanla hak verdim. Çalıştım, AA getirdim o dersi :)
