Pastor Adeboye Did Not Protest Against President Goodluck Jonathan’s Government
A false narrative has been circulating online, accompanied by a photograph of Pastor E.A. Adeboye holding a placard during a public walk. The image has repeatedly been misrepresented as evidence that Pastor Adeboye led or participated in a protest against the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This claim is FALSE.
The photograph in question was taken during a peaceful nationwide walk held in response to a directive issued by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. Churches across Nigeria were instructed to hold peaceful walks after service, calling attention to the persistent killings of Christians and urging the government to take decisive action to protect lives.
The walk in Ebute Metta, where Pastor Adeboye participated, was part of that nationwide exercise. It was neither organized against President Goodluck Jonathan nor connected in any way to his administration.
Ironically, despite the significant media presence at the event when it took place, some of the same photographs have years later been recycled and falsely presented as evidence of a protest against a completely different government.
It is important to note that Pastor Adeboye’s message during the walk was clear: all lives matter to God. His placard emphasized the value of every human life, regardless of religious affiliation. The call was for the protection of innocent Nigerians, both Christians and Muslims.
Yes, Nigeria is facing enormous challenges, and citizens have every right to desire solutions. However, the growing demand that Pastor Adeboye should “command” the President or the First Lady on how to run the affairs of the nation is both unrealistic and unreasonable.
Pastor Adeboye is a clergyman, not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Nevertheless, he has not remained silent.
During the November 2025 Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adeboye publicly offered counsel to the President of Nigeria regarding the worsening security situation and the continued killing of innocent citizens by terrorists. He warned that urgent action was necessary before foreign powers found justification to intervene in Nigeria under the guise of combating terrorism.
He further advised that security chiefs should be given a clear ultimatum to decisively address the menace or vacate their positions.
In his words:
“When they eliminate the terrorists, ask them to eliminate their sponsors too.”
At 84 years old, Pastor Adeboye continues to provide spiritual leadership, moral counsel, and national guidance within the limits of his office as a minister of the Gospel.
For the avoidance of doubt:
• Pastor Adeboye cannot command the President or the First Lady on how to govern Nigeria.
• Pastor Adeboye and RCCG are not responsible for the current challenges facing the nation.
• RCCG is not a political party.
• Pastor Adeboye does not hold political office and was not elected into government.
• RCCG is not the religious arm of any political party in Nigeria.
Facts matter. Context matters. Truth matters.

Prayer of prosperity is beautiful but woe to the person who prays but is unwilling to do the unseen work that that level demands.
There's a cost for progress, and you must not underestimate it.
Eventually, it boils down to one thing:
Are you willing to pay the price, or do you want to continue praying in vain?
Sex is not love.
Porn is not sex.
Fear is not respect.
Opinion is not fact.
Money is not success.
Wealth is not freedom.
Alcohol is not medicine.
Grade is not intelligence.
Gaming is not exercising.
Comfort is not fulfilment.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Degree is not commonsense.
Until you understand class action, you will never truly understand redemption.
Scripture presents redemption through two class actions, not private negotiations.
One. In Adam — all died.
Two. In Christ — all are justified.
Paul is unapologetically clear.
> “Therefore, as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation…” (Romans 5:18)
“For as in Adam all die…” (1 Corinthians 15:22)
Notice this:
No one debates the “all” in Adam.
No one raises an objection saying, “But my personal experience suggests I should be exempt from the fall.”
No one argues, “I did not sin after the similitude of Adam, so the judgment should not apply to me.”
Paul anticipates that objection and crushes it:
> “Death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression.” (Romans 5:14)
In other words, individual experience did not alter corporate reality.
Whether you understood it or not.
Whether you felt it or not.
Whether you agreed with it or not.
You were caught in Adam.
Then Paul says something explosive.
He says Adam was a type of Him who was to come (Romans 5:14).
Meaning the way Adam worked is deliberately designed by God to explain how Christ works.
Now watch the scandal.
> “…even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.” (Romans 5:18)
Same grammar.
Same logic.
Same scope.
Same “all.”
But this is where religion panics.
When it is Adam, “all means all.”
When it is Christ, “all suddenly needs footnotes.”
People now introduce a foreign authority called experience.
They say,
“Yes, Christ justified all, but my experience says otherwise.”
“Yes, Christ finished the work, but my reality is different.”
“Yes, it is true doctrinally, but practically…”
That move would have collapsed the gospel if it were applied to Adam.
Imagine saying,
“I know Adam fell, but experientially I feel innocent.”
“I know judgment came, but my personal narrative disagrees.”
Paul would laugh that argument out of theology.
Class actions are not overturned by personal feelings.
Let me give you a stronger picture.
Imagine a sovereign decree, not an exam.
A king issues a legal proclamation: “Every citizen’s debt has been cancelled in full.”
The law changes instantly.
The records are wiped.
The accounts are settled.
Now imagine someone standing in the street shouting,
“But my bank app still shows minus £50,000!”
The app is wrong.
The decree is final.
The decree does not adjust itself to the app.
The app must be updated to the decree.
This is redemption.
The cross was not an invitation to apply.
It was a cosmic verdict.
> “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them.” (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Not imputing.
Not negotiating.
Not waiting for feelings to align.
In class actions, private experience cannot change public reality.
Experience is educated by truth, not the other way around.
That is why Paul never preached,
“Try to become righteous.”
He preached,
> “Much more then, being now justified by His blood…” (Romans 5:9)
Already done.
Already settled.
Already declared.
And that is why the gospel is not discovered inwardly first.
It is announced outwardly first, then believed.
> “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)
Until believers stop using experience as a higher court than the cross,
they will keep arguing exceptions where God declared completion.
Adam did not ask for your permission before involving you.
Christ does not need your experience to validate His victory.
Class action redemption means this:
You do not reason your way into justification.
You awaken to it.
As in Adam — all died.
So in Christ — all were made righteous.
