Humanitarian aid workers like Zomi are entitled to protection under international law.

Yet Israel has reportedly refused to provide the audio of the 7 killings, despite repeated requests by the family and Aust Government, and now closed its review.

That’s an affront to Australia.

Australia can open a criminal investigation under the Criminal Code with Attorney-General consent;

Press for her case to be included in the existing ICC Palestine investigation; and

Demand the full audio and an independent international probe.

Justice must be pursued fully.

And it reinforces the importance of international law and its courts, currently under direct attack by the US.

And about which Australia has been silent.

The thing is this:

No one can be surprised that Trump has disregarded and destroyed any credibility of FIFA regulations.

It was inevitable, especially once Infantino took a knee.

Trump’s been doing the same thing to international law.

Rules mean nothing to Trump, nor to the US for that matter. He considers himself above them all.

If we apply Trump’s international conduct to football, we should expect the US to sanction the referee for having the temerity to hand out the red, seize any US assets he may have had, and place tariffs on the referee’s country.

If not abduct their leader, and bomb their people.

And of course, demand a veto over any referee, or FIFA decision relating to the US.

This is what the world has allowed and enabled.

Infantino and FIFA is just the latest victim.

It’s not only FIFA, therefore, that needs reform.
