Microdochium patch (aka pink snow mold) remains active through the Midwest and New England. Cool, rainy conditions promote spore production and infection. This can occur well into May. Juvenile bentgrass is most susceptible.
Cool season brown patch (aka yellow patch) is active during cloudy days with cool nights in March & April. It may be tempting to try a fungicide treatment for control. However, the rings and patches will not affect ball roll, and a few consecutive sunny days will promote rapid turf recovery.
