From oil and gas dreams beneath Somali soil,

A friendship was written not in words,

Now even talk of Turkish investment, technology,
And dreams reaching toward the stars from Somali land,
Feels possible because real friends planted belief
When Somalia had almost none.

When Somalia was weak, Turkey did not mock her.
