If you have a forceful personality, just expressing your opinion can sometimes feel oppressive or coercive to another person, even if you don't intend it to be. The mismatch in potency just means you're prone to inadvertently overwhelm.

This is why it's vital you give people dignity preserving off-ramps, so they can comfortably say no to you, rather than feel like they just have to go along with whatever it is you're saying, or pay a high social friction cost for saying no. They should be able to say no to you without undermining things between you, as a simple matter of exercising their true preference.

You shouldn't want people to do what you want just because they're too cowardly to go against you, you should want them to do what you want because they actually want to do it. It is very important to avoid resentment in your dealings - being mindful in tracking other people's capacities and comfort thresholds serves this purpose well.
