@miracles7k No. I would eat my bacon. If they are offended, too bad. They chose to eat at a restaurant that serves pork. They were not forced to cross the threshold.
@Zaira_2213 It would be courteous to chip in on the expenses of the operation of the vehicle since you are receiving benefit from it even if you are not legally obligated to. There is a term for this kind of thing. “Don’t be a dick.”
This is an open letter to @jk_rowling
Dear Jo,
I am writing to you not as a political adversary, or as a headline, or as a voice in a chorus of online anger. I am writing to you simply as a fellow feminist, a fellow survivor of childhood sexual assault, and someone who knows what it means to carry a heavy burden in the dark.
For years, I have listened to you speak about your past. When you write about the absolute, sacred necessity of protecting women and girls, and the visceral need for spaces where they can feel safe from male violence, I do not recoil. I nod. I know that terror. I know the lifelong work of trying to rebuild a sense of safety when it was stolen from you before you even understood what was happening. If I were in that room with you, our tears would look exactly the same. We share a language written in the survival of trauma.
That is why I wanted to ask you to step away from the noise for a moment, and look into a mirror you created.
You gave the world the Mirror of Erised to show us the deepest, most desperate desire of the human heart. You showed us a young boy, forced to hide his true self in a dark cupboard under the stairs by a family terrified of what he was, looking into that glass just to see the wholeness he had been denied. You warned us, through Dumbledore, of the danger of just dwelling on that dream in the dark. You taught millions of us that living means having the courage to make the real world match that deepest truth, no matter how terrifying the journey is.
Jo, when the young people who are cast out and rejected by their families look into that mirror, they aren’t wishing for power, or to invade, or to take anything away from the women you fight so fiercely to protect. They are just looking at a reflection of themselves living peacefully, safely, and authentically in the light. Stepping into one's true identity isn't a political ideology; it is the agonizing, courageous act of breaking the glass of that cupboard so they can finally, truly live.
Because you understand the profound ache of vulnerability and the scars left by a world that can be so hostile, you are in a uniquely powerful place to act. You have the platform, the resources, and the voice to be the one who saves these children from any additional trauma. You could be the sanctuary that helps them heal from the devastating pain of rejection and abandonment—providing them with the very safe haven that every child who has ever felt cast out dreams of finding.
I know the world has thrown an immense amount of rage at you, and I know how that makes a person build their armor thicker and tighter. But the heroes of your stories never won by building thicker walls; they won through the agonizing, beautiful choice to extend empathy to the cast-outs, the misunderstood, and the ones judged by their birth rather than their choices.
I still believe in the magic of the world you built, because I believe in the heart of the woman who wrote it. There are so many vulnerable youth out there who are not your enemy—they are just people who, like both of us, are trying to survive their pasts and find a safe place to exist.

@EvaSamxpxic It’s not a mental illness no matter what I think. Mental illnesses are identified and classified by mental health professionals…the people who are experts and licensed in their field unlike the armchair therapists who are emotionally offended by what they can’t understand.
