residential schools were designed to break the transmission of language and culture. To weaken indigenous nations. It’s not just history it lives on in laws, land ownership and education. Generations live with grief and cultural suppression. Every child matters.
Did you know that Canada is still abducting Indigenous children? There are more Indigenous kids in state “care” today than at the height of the residential school era.
