A cool thing to see as each school year nears is the size of the sunflowers that grow in the Courtyard during summer. Our Kindergarteners toss a few seeds around and when they come to first grade these giants are waiting for them. This is the tallest in my 17 years! #turtlesgrow

Well, it’s a wrap for the school year and this wonderful crew of 4th graders. The Character Strengths Hall of Fame can be viewed in the attached video. We will miss this bunch! Next stop: Sand Creek Middle School. #alwaysaturtle

Last week of the school year and time to display the students recognized with Character Strengths Awards. At each month’s assembly we share how well they represent the trait we focused on. This is our Kindergarten Hall of Fame for this year. #awesometurtles

Big day for our 4th Graders today! Moving Up Ceremony for their transition to Sand Creek. Like any great story, lots of smiles and laughs and of course, a “crying part”. It’s been a very interesting 5 years for their Shaker Road experience. #alwaysturtles

Thanks to our amazing Reading Teachers we hosted an @AlexLemonade event yesterday. Kids in all five grade levels were eager to help and we raised more than $1,100, which is good for 2+ days of research on childhood cancers. #givingturtles

When your 4th graders lose a field trip to Thacher Park due to #AQI and pivot to creating Camp Look on the Bright Side in their classrooms. #teamwork #intothewoods #turtlesplay

Today was our Spring #walkbikeandroll to school event. More than 100 Shaker Road kids made it to school without a bus or car, which is good for Mother Nature. These events also help us bring attention to having safe routes to school so that we can do this every day. #greenturtles

Our winners from our #CharlotteAwards raffle. All Shaker Road kids were book reviewers for these bi-annual awards and today we gave away copies donated by our PTA. It’s GREAT to see kids excited about winning a book! #readingturtles

We will see if our Shaker Road community accurately predicted the outcome of @SuperBowlSBLVII in our #SouperBowl as the @Chiefs edged out the @Eagles by a few dozen cans. Over 1000 cans of soup came to the building and will be sent to @FoodBankNENY #turtlesgive

It’s the end of Week 1 for our #SouperBowl and we are piling up boxes with hundreds of cans for @FoodBankNENY The @Eagles and @Chiefs are just about tied. This is going to be close with lots of soup going to the Food Bank! #turtleshelp
