On 30 December chemistry laureate Fraser Stoddart sadly passed away at the age of 82.
Stoddart's groundbreaking work in the field of supramolecular chemistry and nanotechnology has left an indelible mark on the scientific community and a forever lasting gift to society and humankind.

Heartbroken by the passing of Sir Fraser Stoddart, who was not just a scientific giant but also a mentor, a role model, and a dear friend to me. No doubt his legacy will continue to inspire, but his absence leaves an unimaginable void in my heart. Rest in peace, Fraser.
@NMRspectroscopy Answer:C
'B' is not becoz aromatic protons are symmetrical but in spectra not. At 10 ppm there is hump for acidic proton and in aliphatic region two triplet with one multiplate which is only possible in structure "C". The most important CH2 protons next to 'N' comes at 4.4 ppm.
@ChinChemLett@NMRspectroscopy The proton at 9.6 ppm confirmed it should be B or D. The singlet proton at 2.4 ppm confirmed it is D because OMe proton will come around 3.9 ppm.
We had the pleasure of welcoming @Andrew_Sue on his first visit to the Research Palace & Garden @HKUniversity today. Later on, he treated us to an outstanding lecture on a Family of Nanotubular Hosts with Deep Cavities which he calls Covalent-Organic Pillars before dinner.
Still can’t quite believe it, but the Australian Academy of Science awarded me a medal for research in Chemistry! Big shout out to my students and mentors that helped along the way.
Great to also show that career breaks and part-time working are taken into account. #WomenInSTEM
It’s been ~4 years since the last time I invited @OgoshiTomoki to visit Tianjin. Great to be able to host Mr Pillararene in Xiamen this time. A lot of progress has been made from both research groups. It only gets better with time. I’m already looking forward to our next meeting!
I am looking for five PhD students to work in the area of supramolecular chemistry, biomaterials and soft matter. Please apply through online and contact me by email. There are also many other colleagues looking for PhD students to work in different fields.
