Out on a vacation on an island, we could have been lost! Iโm glad we had another phone from AT&T.

One valuable lesson medicine residency has taught me is communicating with patients and their distressed families.
What a humbling experience when a patient blesses you for a minuscule gesture, which for them may be life changing!
The first woman neurosurgeon in Asia
Prof. Dr. T S Kanaka obtained her MCh (neurosurgery) in 1968 from Madras Medical College to become the first woman in Asia to qualify as neurosurgeon. She was one of the earliest female neurosurgeons in the world. Before that she had completed her MS (general surgery) in 1963. She is the first neurosurgeon from India who performed deep brain stimulation in 1975. She has been named in the LIMCA book of records for the highest number of blood donations (139 to be exact).

While I am excited to train at an AMAZING place, the reality of finding a job for my fiancรฉ in his desired industry or potentially continuing long distance is equally as painful and scary. Shout out to the partners who sacrifice so much for our lives in medicine ๐ฅน #Match2024
One of my patients (who labels himself a #PriorAuthSurvivor) diagrammed the unnecessary complexity of trying to get his medication approved on time ๐
Rinse & repeat and this is a cyclic nightmare that has nothing to do with chemo but rather the bureaucracy of US healthcare
I like ICU medicine because after you write your long notes after long rounds you can just vibe with ultrasound, goals of care talks with families, or get new very sick patients. Lots of doing
PSA: To anyone seeing #Oppenheimer in IMAX 70MM, the film will start promptly at the listed showtime and will have no trailers due to the size of the film print.
