A little bit of wholesome Arsene Wenger for you on this contentious morning
30 years on from the most seismic coaching appointment in English football, arguably the most influential Premier League coach of modern times

Shock as a Ugandan MP campaigning for Kasongo and openly saying that Ugandans will cross into Kenya to vote for him. 👀.
Hii pia watasema KTN inatumiwa na opposition?
A KTN exposé has uncovered how Kenyan voter registration equipment and materials, including national ID cards and voter cards, are being smuggled across the Suam border into Uganda and used to register foreign nationals, including members of the Saboti, Sabaot, Bukusu and Pokot communities.
Is this the plan?
1. Kill agriculture
2. Kill the informal economy
3. Kill SMEs
4. Defund education and health
5. Kill the people
6. Share land and loot with foreign corporates.
Nyayo Estate cost Ksh. 16 Billion for 4,700 houses sold at market rate.
They are not wrong when they say a government can run out of sand in the Sahara.
I say this with the utmost seriousness as a scholar of international political economy: the rules-based international order is dead.
At the UN General Assembly, Trump, in very casual language, talks about annihilating another country. The room stays quiet. No collective protest. No formal objection.
And this goes far beyond rhetoric.
The US *has* bombed Iran, in clear violation of international law.
The US *has* kidnapped Venezuela's head of state and is in the process of looting the country's natural resources, in clear violation of international law.
The US *has* tightened its blockade on Cuba, in clear violation of international law.
Then there is, of course, the genocide in Gaza, for which the US has provided unconditional support.
After World War II, the US was one of the primary architects of a system meant to encourage global cooperation. But the US has consistently broken that system's rules to advance its imperial interests.
The system has therefore lost all its legitimacy.
It is still staggering that, when Arsenal were mired in such mediocrity, they went for a rookie who had not yet experienced the full responsibility of being in charge of a team. That is one hell of a leap of faith.
Mikel Arteta promised his all. Arsenal promised patience, trust and backing.
The rewards were tangible as Arsenal lifted the Premier League trophy last season and established themselves as a continental force to be reckoned with, pushing Paris Saint-Germain to penalties in the Champions League final.
Reflecting on Arsenal of December 2019 compared to today, those difficult days feel like listening to music through muffled ears or observing an artwork through distortion glasses. Everything is sharper now because one man came back to a club he loved and polished every possible aspect.

The court allows Okiya Omtatah's petition and holds that the result declared at the constituency level is final and binding, not capable of being amended, reconciled or any other fancy term they may want to use.
What does this mean?
With Section 39 declared unconstitutional, the constituency Returning Officers have no room to make any errors because the results they announce are final.
The IEBC as a whole has the role of tallying and verifying results, not just the IEBC Chair.
The IEBC chair still declares the final (national) presidential result as is mandated under Article 138(10).
Any media house or any organisation capable of posting agents at the 290 constituency tallying Centres can collate and have the presidential result on the same night after voting since most constituencies receive presidential results in that very same night.
Bottomline, that nervous 5 to 6 days period of waiting has now been drastically reduced to at the very most 2 days.
Constituency Returning Officers have a lot more responsibility on their hands and this comes with a bigger risk of prosecution should they commit any electoral offences including giving false figures.
The Maina Kiai decision still Stands as any conflict between the constituency result and what is declared at the polling station will tilt towards the polling station result being final and binding.
I believe Justice Gregory Mutai has done well!
How exactly are we supposed to industrialize Kenya with electricity costs like this?
EPRA has added KSh22.31 per unit in just five months:
May: KSh4.40
June: KSh3.87
July: KSh5.18
August: KSh4.70
September: KSh4.16
Compare that with our neighbours.
Tanzania: TZS292 per kWh for general users, roughly KSh 14.5 per unit. Cost for industrial users is even cheaper.
Ethiopia: about KSh2.45 per kWh (this is subsidized but still).
And Kenya has increased its cost by KSh22.31 in FIVE MONTHS ONLY. The increased cost is more than the cost of electricity for our neighbours.
Then they stand on podiums and talk about industrialization.
With what power? At what cost?
Factories need electricity. Manufacturing needs electricity.

THE ORIGINAL SIN: THE CAPTURE OF THE NATIONAL TREASURY
Parliament's decision in 2012, at Section 11 of the Public Finance Management Act, to convert the National Treasury - which is established in the Constitution as an independent constitutional institution - into a department of the National Executive, placed under the political control of the President through the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, is the original sin at the heart of our woes.
It is the moment the architecture of accountability was dismantled. It is the moment the purse was surrendered to the Executive and the Control of public funds was lost. Parliament too lost its power because the President no longer had to govern through the national budget.
And it is also the moment the door was opened to the debt crisis, the opaque borrowing, the concealed expenditure, and the impunity that now strangle our Republic.
To drain the swamp, we must reinstate an independent National Treasury.
The Republic's financial system must return to the design in the Constitution - where a chain of separated constitutional powers ensures that no President, no Minister, no Treasurer, no Parliamentarian, no Governor, no creditor, and no bureaucrat can ever capture the entire life‑cycle of public money.
That is the Constitution's promise. That is the promise we must reclaim.

Private jets fly empty every day. Hundreds of them.
The passenger lands. The plane needs to get home. Those seats are going to waste at full fuel burn regardless of whether anyone is sitting in them.
We call them "dead legs". One of the most consistent inefficiencies in private aviation.
The operator would love to sell those seats at a discount. The buyer would love to fly private at a fraction of the normal cost. Both sides are motivated.
And yet the market still runs through individual brokers making phone calls.
Someone needs to build the marketplace that connects operators and buyers in real time.
The technology definitely exists. The demand is obviously there.
What doesn't exist is the platform.
