There are various programs in Korea designed to help immigrants adapt to life in the country. One of the most representative programs is the Korean Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP).
As Korea becomes increasingly diverse, programs like this play an important role in helping newcomers settle into their communities. The program consists of six levels, from Level 0 to Level 5.
beginning with basic Korean language instruction and gradually progressing to more advanced language skills and cultural understanding. Participants learn not only how to communicate in Korean but also about everyday customs, laws, public services, and social expectations. The final stage focuses on understanding Korean society, helping immigrants gain a deeper appreciation of how the country functions. Those who complete all five levels are exempt from taking the written test required for naturalization.
As more institutions begin offering the program across the country, increasing numbers of immigrants have the opportunity to improve their language skills, better understand Korean society, and build a stronger foundation for life in South Korea.
