In Ranquist Development Group Office, Radutny Architects use large glass panels as transparent walls in between bricks. The idea is to not only borrow the light from surrounding but also broaden the view at the same time. The feeling is gorgeous.

In the slideshow "10 PRINCIPLES OF SOM'S CITY DESIGN PRACTICE" , SOM emphasizes "Heritage" at the last slide. As a pioneer architecture firm, mentions "Future" several times in many projects, how does the firm find balance in these 2 extremes?

People often make prediction and imagination on future, so that becomes the vision. In architecture pratice, if the reality in later future deviate from the initial vision, would you fix the design or just let it be?

What vision does the architect want to bring to the community. There's nothing wrong with the vision "dream" and that shouldn't be easily give up because of conflict.
