I studied so many similar-looking images in Medieval Art History but watching someone *do* it is striking. You can tell the ground (the goatskin) behaves so differently in response to paint and leaf. Glorious!
@Argenpoirot This isn't the whole story, though. Water vs. bidet is a big distinction. A good bidet is better than toilet paper. A squatty potty and a watering can is not great. Toilet paper is better.
@leemthreads There were women in my family who were not prepared when the time came. Those girls who thought there was something seriously wrong when they saw the blood. They had mothers, aunts, and grandmothers who could have told them ahead, and didn't. This dad has done well.
I just finished reading Blood Rites by Jim Butcher (@longshotauthor). I am really late to the party on this series. It's book 6, but I didn't feel lost. It was a fun read with a good build up and resolution. I enjoyed the humor, as well.
