Congratulations to Dr Suna Tüzün @tuzunkuru , postdoctoral scientist in our @ERC_Research DeepTrace, for succesfully completing her first Alvin Dive!

Suna and I had a busy workday at 2512 meters, sampling hydrothermal fluids and exploring seafloor habitats for sampling in future dives in our expedition.

Our young pilot Benen did an excellent job once again.

And the rest of team members are eagerly waiting for their Alvin dives. It’s great to witness everbody’s excitement. Stay tuned…

Preparations for our busy @ERC_Research DeepTrace 2025 field season have started. On board RV Lamas of @METU_IMS, we have successfully conducted the first underwater tests of the new AIS deep-sea electrochemical analyzer, to be deployed over Pacific Ocean hydrothermal vents and Black Sea redox zone next year @METU_ODTU @tuzunkuru
