For decades, the Supreme Court recognized a college’s freedom to decide how to build a diverse student body and provide opportunity.
Today, the Court walked away from precedent, effectively ending affirmative action in higher education.
I strongly disagree with this decision.
An extremist Supreme Court has once again reversed decades of settled law, rolled back the march toward racial justice, and narrowed educational opportunity for all. I won't stop fighting for young people with big dreams who deserve an equal chance to pursue their future.
Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.
Americans work their entire lives with the promise that Social Security will help them retire with dignity.
But House Republicans’ new plan breaks that promise, slashing Social Security benefits for millions of Americans.

Justice Alito justified his estimated $100k ride on a billionaire’s plane for a luxury fishing trip to Alaska, saying the seat was vacant. Turns out the seat was intended for an eight year-old Make-a-Wish Foundation who always wanted to catch a halibut.
