A simple property tax payment is turning into a confusing exercise due to poorly designed SWM user fee questions and unclear data requirements.

There is no per-house waste weighment system, so all entries are merely estimates. And the framework imposes discriminatory charges on apartment communities that already segregate and compost their waste.

Fix the SWM framework first—don’t make compliance harder for citizens.

We seek urgent intervention from the Chief Commissioner, GBA.

Karnataka has just ended the road tax subsidy that it gave to EVs. One of the first major states to have done so.

It also happens to have the highest road tax in India for normal cars.

It is in the top 2 when it comes to taxes on property and Alcohol

It is also in the top 4 when it comes to taxes on fuel

If you are living in Karnataka, you are living in one of the highest taxed states in the Country

Coincidentally, Karnataka is by a significant margin, the highest welfare spending state in India.

It spent more than 51,000 cr on freebies like bus travel, electricity, cash etc. This is 50% more than the no 2 state, Delhi, which spent 34,000 cr

It just shows you don't get anything for free from the govt.

You just pay for it via a different source

P:S: With 64 cr as average declared Asset Value, Karnataka's MLAs are the second richest in India just after Andhra Pradesh.

And 50% more than the third richest Maharashtra, whose MLAs are at a measly 43 cr.
