Even more stunning than the overperformance of #1 and #2 is #3 beating #4 in its second week.
"Sinners" has amassed $61 million in its global debut. It's a great result for an original, R-rated horror film, yet the Warner Bros. release has a $90 million price tag before global marketing expenses, so profitability remains a ways away. https://t.co/gjPXGBYkZ1
Adrien Brody will go down as having maybe a top 1 weirdest career ever. 2 Oscars twenty years apart. Like 6 Wes Anderson movies in between alongside just a bunch of direct to DVD slop. Also he was in Angels in the Outfield
Gene Hackman’s about as good as it gets, a legend. Could be playful, menacing, could still be so vulnerable under his gruff exterior and he never ever seemed like he was acting, a total natural. Incredible face, incredible hairline, they don’t create stars like him anymore. RIP
Scorsese’s got a real case of the “attachies” recently. I imagine this will fade away, especially since The Rock has to keep feeding the algorithm.
I guess Johnson-Blunt is the new Tracy-Hepburn?
credit to pacino for opening the envelope, recognizing the moment he was about to be a part of, and giving it a beat and a pitch-perfect delivery. that’s movie star shit right there
