Georgekutty returns once again, this time as a successful producer trying to live peacefully while the shadows of the past continue to haunt his family. Drishyam 3 expands the franchise’s psychological tension and mystery, focusing on the consequences that refuse to stay buried.

As expected, @Mohanlal delivers a brilliant performance, effortlessly carrying the film with his screen presence and restrained intensity. Technically, the film is strong Anil Johnson’s music and Satheesh Kurup’s visuals stand out as major highlights, maintaining the tense atmosphere throughout. Vineeth Balachandran enhances the experience further with effective sound design that supports the suspense-driven narrative. The interval twist raises the stakes effectively, while the climax delivers enough payoff to satisfy franchise fans.

However, the film isn’t without flaws. The antagonist side lacks fully developed character arcs, reducing the impact of the central conflict. The climax, though impactful in intent, feels slightly rushed and may confuse audiences in parts due to its hurried execution. Director Jeethu Joseph takes a different narrative approach compared to the earlier installments, managing to keep audiences invested despite the unevenness.

The film thrives on its vintage commercial treatment while delivering a strong emotional core in the first half. @Suriya_offl dominates the film with commanding screen presence 💥🔥, bringing back the vintage mass aura that fans have been waiting for. The emotional moments in the first half land effectively, while the interval and climax portions provide solid theatrical highs. Several action blocks generate genuine goosebumps, aided immensely by @SaiAbhyankkar stupendous background score 💥💥💥, which acts as one of the film’s biggest strengths. 

Visually, @dop_gkvishnu delivers neat frames 👌🏻, while Arun Venjaramoodu and Preetisheel Singh D'Souza contribute appreciably to the film’s larger-than-life atmosphere. Old references are smartly integrated and work well with the audience.

However, the film loses some emotional momentum in the second half, slightly reducing the impact built earlier. RJ Balaji villainous stretch in the climax occasionally feels overboard, affecting the seriousness of the conflict.

Tharun Bhascker brings his usual natural screen presence, fitting well into the film’s offbeat tone, while Manaasa Choudhary plays her part adequately. A few comedy scenes land effectively, especially in the initial portions where the parody elements show promise. JD Chakravarthy has an interesting setup as the antagonist, but it doesn’t translate into a compelling character on screen. A cameo by Sree Vishnu adds momentary interest but feels largely unnecessary.

The film’s biggest issue is its weak second half, where the narrative loses grip and the central conflict fails to hold seriousness. The humor becomes forced and inconsistent, diluting both the crime and comedy aspects. The antagonist lacks depth, and the parody tone overstays its welcome, making the film feel stretched and artificial.

The narrative feels overly sanitized, presenting Michael in a largely one-dimensional, saint-like manner while avoiding major controversies and legal battles that shaped his life. The writing comes across as formulaic and lacking depth, limiting emotional and narrative impact. Additionally, the story only covers his journey up to the late 80s, leaving out a significant portion of his later career, which makes the portrayal feel incomplete.
