Last week the girlies did not come to play too but the queen of sweet vocals came to show why you should call her that, “Be” by Amaeya is that song that you want to dance to in one of these EDM parties or blasting through this summer in a drop top. It should also be in a movie, just saying.

It just tells a soft girl love interest story but you see where it’s different is the beat. It sounds like you it wants to be an amapiano song with out log drums. Someone said Amapiano was done in the Nigerian sound space and i didn’t quite believe it but if it’s replaced with stuff like this then it was fun while it lasted.

This is my favorite female drop this year, and it’s a love type song, how did she make a love song this good? Amaeya “what did you put in your stew” this should also be in summer parties around pools it’s good for everywhere, play it in night, day everyday when you’re going to church, around kids, around love etc the replay value stands upright.

This last week had awesome songs and I want to talk about them.

The song i didn’t expect to be that good is “Cocoa body” by Frenna ft Wizkid and Odeal, the way it’s been the only song I’ve wanted to keep listening to since it dropped can’t be explained.

Everything about the song screams “big boy sexy” from the cover art to the instrumental and then the choice of features. There’s this sound from Ojuelegba that was reimagined with the bass guitars on the track, apparently it’s a sample that has always existed but the use here was subtle and fitting.

Odeal has never sounded this good on a chorus and Odeal has had some really great runs straight for like three years back to back, he’s very well seated on this track, the texture of his voice is like sprinkling seasoning on suya mahn.

And then my favorite part, Wizkid’s verse, this year Wiz seems to be on his international feature run and last year was a Nigerian run cause why is Odumodublvck having two songs with Wiz? Lol But this year he’s doing the same thing with Odeal cause they also together on the Latto song and it’s refreshing. His take on the RnB leaning sound is breath taking.

The verse itself is well executed to the background sounds like the phone ring, the brief pauses and how his voice was processed. He’s sneaking in Yoruba in like it’s some exotic luxury language.

I feel like if Micheal Jackson was still alive he’d want a feature with him.

On this cover art Tariq looks like DMX lol but you see the song? Tariq’s voice mahn, the flow and that nasty base line.

Someone is definitely praying deeply for ScottyOlorin cause his run this year? His run is not plastic bro, pure talent. That raspy voice on this smooth beat is a divine encounter. It’s not too loud or too low it’s confident like it’s meant to be there.

The person that brought both of them together with the producer must be feeling like an evil genius cause it’s two different worlds you won’t expect to coexist but they’re living together in perfect harmony.
