Visiting Dad in hospital last night, I realized that I never truly appreciated how much he sacrificed to provide for our family. 16 hour days, 6 day work weeks,a million miles+ spent on the road. I can only hope to be half the man he is when it's my turn. Love you forever Dad ❤️
The eldest son carries the invisible weight no one sees.
While the parents argue and the siblings play, he's drowning in:
- Unspoken expectations
- Silent responsibility
- The pressure to fix what he didn't break
He's not allowed to crack.
Not permitted to fail.
So the pain turns inward.
The world calls him "the strong one"
while ignoring the cracks spreading beneath his surface.
Check on your firstborn.
Before his silence becomes permanent.
Red Bull’s talk of their “duty of care” is laughable. You either believe in the driver you’ve signed and give them support or you don’t. They’ve played fast and loose with driver careers for decades but this is a new low. 2 races is insane. Good luck Yuki. You’re gonna need it.
America doesn't get it. We are not offended by the tariffs. Trade could have been negotiated without a fraction of the bad blood. It is the constant "51st State" and "governor" talk, while his people snicker. We became a country in 1867, specifically not to be American. 1/2
@joncoupland I've always appreciated his professionalism in his reviews, how he runs his channel and community interactions. It's unfortunate that something serious has happened, but Jay deserves to be commended for how he's handling this. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to the driver
@harrym_vids@YouTube I'm looking at one of these as my first new car to replace my aging second-hand 2013 Focus and have been devouring all content from my favorite YouTubers on it, and then you post this. Funny how things work out
Watching a Diners Drive Ins and Dives from 2008 and it’s a completely different world. A bacon cheeseburger was braggadociosly only $4.75. I looked up the website and that burger is $17 today.
The Flavortown you were raised to live in no longer exists.
Dear @JeremyClarkson,
With your exit from the automotive series world, I wanted to take a moment to say thanks. You and your friends didn’t just create entertainment.. you sparked something in people like me, made us care about the machines that move us. Your early Top Gear made me think, ‘Yeah, I want to do that.’ I was just a dumb kid from New Jersey with a camera and no direction in life, shooting cars at the track for fun. Somehow, I started @DRIVE and now make a living filming cars. I owe a lot to what you built and how you showed us we could try new formats, make mistakes, and still screw up some more but make it out the other end.
There’s so much to be said here, but none of it matters. Just know you changed some lives for the better.. gave sons a reason to bond with their fathers.. or reasons to debate stupid car facts with friends at the bar. It helped grow relationships on so many levels.
BTW, I’ve got no clue why you’ve followed me on here for so long… maybe I said something dumb, maybe I did something right. Either way, gonna’ grab a Hawkstone in London this weekend, call it my thank you.
Imagine spending the first half of your career not even being good enough to play ahead of Ronan O'Gara, ending it not being good enough to get picked ahead of a Scot, then thinking you are a big enough deal to publish an autobiography.
The arrogance never ceases to amaze me.
